Open Spaces

Open Spaces Committee membership is normally 10 Councillors.

This Committee manages the Council’s open spaces sites and activities (including street lighting), its broad policy being to balance achievable standards within available funding, utilising the four ground staff. It meets 5 times per year and is serviced by the Deputy Town Clerk, and attended by the Head Groundsman. Partly because of the staff costs, this Committee sets and monitors the largest of the Council’s budgets.
