New WW1 memorial seat

Visitors to the town War Memorial at Edenbridge Hospital have a new bench on which to sit and remember those who gave their lives in past wars.  It was provided by the Town Council to commemorate the Centenary of the end of World War I this year, and the striking design features red poppies and the figures of soldiers on the battlefield.

The Council has also arranged for two of the names on the memorial to have their Awards letters added, which were not previously recorded – Frederick Ashby DCM, and William Divall Coomber MM.
