Join us on Monday 31 March at the WI Hall for this year’s Annual Town Meeting.
Registration: 6.30 pm
Start time: 7.00 pm
This is your chance to hear updates on the work being done across Edenbridge, future plans, and contributions from our partner agencies. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to ask questions and share your thoughts.
There will be speakers from Sevenoaks District Council, Kent Police, the office of Tom Tugendhat MP, Kent County Council (education), Edenbridge Foodbank, and Edenbridge Community Christmas Association. Edenbridge Community Warden and NEDRA will also be in attendance to chat with people.
We’ve always been thrilled by the fantastic turnout, and we’d love to see as many residents join us as in previous years, for this important community event. We look forward to welcoming you.
The Town Council has been working in partnership with the Royal British Legion and local groups to coordinate this year’s act of remembrance in Edenbridge on Sunday 10 November.
At 10.30 am there will be a march from Leathermarket car park to the old War Memorial Hospital (with road closure), followed by a wreath-laying service at 11.00 am.
The whole community is invited to join, but please be advised that there will be no parking available at the old hospital site. Instead, you should park in the town. Parking is also available at the Cricket Club pavilion parking area, Blossoms Park. Those who need to travel by car should arrive to park by 10.15am to avoid the road closure.
Road closure will be in force 10.15 am to 12.00 noon (from Church Street, High Street, Mill Hill to just past the hospital; and includes the Hever Road junction).
Help with Transportation
A Scouts minibus will lead the parade, with limited seats available for those with walking mobility issues. These should be booked in advance via this booking form.

On 6 June, everyone was invited to attend an evening community event at Stangrove Park for music, food and lighting of the Beacon.

Members of our Monday Games Club enjoyed a delightful classical afternoon tea this week thanks to funding via a Better Together Community Mobilisation grant from Sevenoaks District Council. Also invited were other residents in the community who have found their network of friends have changed since the pandemic, and so this provided them an opportunity do something nice after the difficulties of the past few years, and to connect with some new faces.
The club runs every Monday at Rickards Hall (off the High Street next to the Council office) from 10.00 am to 12 pm and is aimed at over 55s. Lots of games are available such as cards, boardgames and jigsaws. It’s a great opportunity to socialise over a cuppa while exercising the brain too! For some of the members, it has been a lifeline and a way to combat loneliness and isolation. One member told us it gives her a reason to get motivated in the morning, “I look forward to it each week and I’ve made some great friends,” she said.
The club is funded through a grant from Involve Kent, and in March 2023 it was recognised with a Certificate of Achievement in the Older Person’s Group at Sevenoaks District Council’s Community & Voluntary Awards. Around a dozen members now come along each week, but new faces are always welcome!
Chairman of Edenbridge Town Council, Cllr Bob Todd, said: “It has been so nice to see people enjoying this afternoon tea with music played by the wonderful harpist Margaret Watson. Being able to host the Games Club in Edenbridge is really important to this Council and is just one of the ways we can support older people and those facing loneliness or living with dementia.”
The club is currently free to attend. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available – sometimes even cake!
