New Nature Trail and Art Adventure at Millennium Wood!

Look out for the plaques

If you go down to the woods today, you may discover something new…our new Nature Trail and Art Adventure at Millennium Wood!

Spot the ten special plaques nestled on wooden posts to discover the wildlife, flora and fauna that thrive in this special part of Edenbridge.

Children will especially enjoy bringing the illustrations to life through the magic of crayon rubbings!

Spot our bug hotels

If you look closely, you might also spot a few insect and bug hotels dotted around the woodland too. These cozy habitats are part of our effort to support local biodiversity and provide a home for some of nature’s smallest – but most important – residents.

Plan your visit

Millennium Wood is open year-round at Mowshurst (home to Nomads Football Club). Free parking available. Please help us look after the woodlands for all to enjoy – do not litter, and clear up after dogs.

We are delighted to announce the release of our newly updated walks leaflets, featuring ten scenic routes through the beautiful countryside and villages, in and around Edenbridge. Whether you’re after a short stroll or a longer adventure, there’s a walk for everyone.

These carefully revised guides invite residents and visitors alike to rediscover the rich countryside, historic landmarks, and hidden gems that make this corner of Kent so special.

You can pick up a guide from the Town Council office (Doggetts Barn, 72a High Street, Edenbridge) or download a mobile-friendly version online at www.visitedenbridge.com/discover/walks

We have been able to update these popular guides thanks to funding from the Community Infrastructure Levy and a Kent County Council Members’ Grant (from County Councillor Margot McArthur 2021-2025), to help both residents and visitors enjoy the area.

“Promoting Edenbridge as a visitor destination is a key part of supporting the local economy and showcasing our spectacular location and everything our town has to offer”, said Cllr McArthur.

Get your leaflet and head out to explore one of the walks – you’re sure to find something new to love!

Vote for Edenbridge in national market awards!

The National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) has launch its industry awards for 2024. The awards promote what is best in the industry and communities are being asked to nominate a:

•             Market Manager of the Year

•             Market Team of the Year

•             Market Achievement of the Year

•             Young Market Champion of the Year

The awards are sponsored by Blachere Illumination.

There are some wonderful stories from the industry that are deserving of nominations, and we hope you’ll agree that the success of Edenbridge Market over the past few years in terms of growing from a few stalls to around 15 regulars each week, is something to be celebrated!

In 2024, with the difficult times that the high street and many markets are facing, linked to the challenges of local government finance, it is important to shout out loud about markets and market people, and the immense contribution that they make to local communities like Edenbridge.

NOMINATE NOW!

Nominations can be sent to info@nabma.com
Closing date is 31 August

In terms of Market Manager and Team, all that is required at this stage is a nomination. For Market Achievement and Young Market Champion, provide some brief details and NABMA will follow up with enquiries.

New Tourism website – visitedenbridge

www.visitedenbridge.com – new tourism site – more modern, user friendly tourism site bringing together the visitor attractions in and around Edenbridge to create a focal tourist information point which will also benefit local residents and businesses. The new site is fresh, easy to navigate and discover local attractions, activities, countryside and open spaces, walks, history and picturesque buildings.

The site is still being live tested so there may still be some minor anomalies, but do check it out and plan some different days out.

The popular walks around Edenbridge and across the beautiful countryside can be found on the walks page. The next phase of the site is to develop these walks so that they can be accessed via a walks app, but for now the walks can be downloaded as a pdf version or individual walks leaflets are available to collect form the Town Council office.

We hope you enjoy the new site.
