Open Spaces Committee meets six times a year and manages the Council’s amenity sites and activities (including street lighting), its broad policy being to balance achievable standards within available funding, utilising the four ground staff and cleaner. It is serviced by the Deputy Town Clerk, and attended by the Head Groundsman. Partly because of the staff costs this Committee sets and monitors the largest of the Council’s budgets.
