Planning & Transportation

Planning & Transportation Committee consists of 12 Members (min 5 from each Ward).

This Committee, is serviced by the Planning and Administration Officer,  under general direction of the Town Clerk. It aims to meet at every 3-4 weeks. Its policy is to consider planning applications and to submit responses to Sevenoaks District Council (or occasionally KCC and adjacent authorities) for which there is delegated authority from Council, in the light of established Governmental, County and District polices and other adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance. The delegated authority also permits the submission of responses to consultation documents on planning and transportation issues. It has no budget.

The Committee also receives and reviews highways and other transport matters including the Highways Improvement Plan (HIP) and campaigns to Kent Council Council Highways and other agencies for improvements.
