We have recently learned that Paydens has taken the business decision to terminate its contract with the Post Office Ltd later this year. This means Post Office Ltd is now looking for another retailer to incorporate a Post Office Local into their existing or proposed Edenbridge business. The Council is united with residents in feeling the effects that a complete closure of the Post Office would have on the town, and will therefore endeavour to support the Post Office Ltd in hopefully finding a new suitable location in Edenbridge to operate its services. The sorting office in Edenbridge, which is operated by Royal Mail, is not affected by these changes.
We are also sad and disappointed to hear recently that Edenbridge Leisure Centre has closed suddenly following the administration of Sencio Community Leisure – the leisure trust which operated the centre on behalf of Sevenoaks District Council. Sencio also ran Sevenoaks Leisure Centre and Lullingstone Park Golf, both of which have also closed.
The leisure centre has been serving our community for decades and its closure is a big loss for the town. We know how much it meant to the community – not just in terms of being a place of activity and exercise, but also a place where friendships and support networks were forged. Our thoughts are with the staff who no doubt are facing an uncertain and worrying time. We are hopeful that Sevenoaks District Council will be able to see a way through the current situation as soon as possible, but for the moment the matter is with the insolvency company.

All current Sencio All-in-One members can use the gym at the new White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley, which is operated by Everyone Active, for up to four weeks from 17 March.

Sencio Members can swim at Tonbridge Pool at discounted Priority Card rates until Friday 31 March. Sencio Members can also use the Angel Centre Gym free of charge until Sunday 2 April.
