Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Funds
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is money received by Edenbridge Town Council from Sevenoaks District Council. This money comes from developers who are charged a levy to ensure that the area has the necessary services and amenities to support the new growth. It must be used to fund local infrastructure projects that benefit the community.
CIL funds are overseen by the Finance and Governance Committee and the CIL Board, and regular updates are included in council meeting papers. Each year, the Council also submits an Annual Return to Sevenoaks District Council to show how the money has been spent. Any funds must be used within five years of being awarded.
