According to the National Allotment Society, an allotment can produce enough food to supplement a family’s weekly shop over the year if managed properly.
As well as financial gains, tending to an allotment can bring a huge sense of achievement as well as physical benefits. It’s a place to become part of a community of like-minded people and great for families too.
Community plots at Forge Croft
There are two community plots that the Council subsidises that are managed by Eden Grows Community group. They are there for any Edenbridge locals who would like to grow food and flowers or just enjoy being outdoors in a peaceful setting, without taking on the responsibility of a whole allotment plot. You can give as much or as little time as you like, there is no commitment and no gardening knowledge needed. Everyone shares the produce and flowers grown.
