Rubbish & Recycling
Sevenoaks District Council is responsible for collecting your weekly rubbish and recycling.
Refuse and recycling bags
Black refuse sacks are no longer provided by Sevenoaks District Council, but can be purchased from local outlets and supermarkets.
Sevenoaks District Council no longer supplies clear recycling sacks. Instead, residents will have received a recycling sack for life.
Garden waste sacks
Sevenoaks District Council offers a paid-for garden waste scheme that residents can join.
If you don’t have enough garden waste for a bin, SDC offers collection sacks, which can be purchased from the Town Council.
- Each sack holds up to 80 litres of garden waste.
- You can purchase bundles of 25 sacks from us for £27or £1.10 each. Use them as you need to.
- Garden waste left out in other sacks or containers will not be collected.
Payment
Edenbridge Town Council office is open Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 3.30pm. Payment can be made by cash or card. If you have any queries, please email information@edenbridgetowncouncil.gov.uk or call 01732 865368.
Food waste
From Monday 27 April 2026, Sevenoaks District Council will begin separate weekly food waste collections for most households.
Food waste will be collected on the same day as your general waste and recycling from a new food waste caddy that will be delivered before the new service begins.

Bulky waste
Sevenoaks District Council has informed us that it will no longer be able to provide this discretionary waste service. The Town Council is currently looking into alternative providers. Historically, the service was funded by Edenbridge Town Council and provided by Sevenoaks District Council as a way for residents to conveniently and responsibly dispose of large unwanted items.
Residents will continue to have access to alternative methods for the disposal of bulky household items, including:
- Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs)
- Bulky waste home collection services, which you can book directly with SDC
- Reuse and donation schemes provided by local charities
