What we own
Doggetts Barn
Built in the 1500s, the listed building houses the Council Office and Information Centre. Open Monday to Thursday, 9am to 3.30pm. Advice on local attractions, accommodation, walking routes and timetables can be found inside. The Council sells garden waste sacks on behalf of Sevenoaks District Council.
Church House (Eden Valley Museum)
Grade 2* Listed, it is the third oldest building in Edenbridge, and dates from approx 1384. It is leased to the Eden Valley Museum and is structurally linked with Rickards Hall. Worth a look for those interested in the history of Edenbridge and its surrounding area.
Rickards Hall
A Community Hall sitting within Doggetts courtyard. Used by many community groups, such as Men and Women’s Probus, Guides and Brownies, and for regular events. Edenbridge Foodbank operates from the hall on Tuesday mornings, and on Friday mornings it is home to Busy Bees playgroup. Council meetings take place here most Monday evenings. The Hall can be privately booked for functions through the Council.
Stangrove Park
A landscaped park with a children’s playground and a duck pond, as well as outdoor gym and multi-use games area. The town’s Beacon is situated at the top end of the park. The park is popular for events, including the Council’s family fun days during the summer. It is close to the Town Centre, and Edenbridge Leisure Centre is adjacent with free parking.
The Recreation Ground and Pavilion
A major open space and sports facility with a children’s playground, upgraded in 2022. Used for rugby and football. There is a Sports Pavilion, and the Grounds Team has a drive-in equipment store. The popular Bonfire Society fireworks display takes place here. There are two car parks, one accessible from Coomb Field and the other off Lingfield Road.
Blossoms Park
Home to Edenbridge Cricket Club. The park, of which the Council owns the land, contains the Matt Cox Pavilion, built and owned by the Cricket Club. There is a car park area as well as a skate park and BMX ramps.
Mowshurst
In this Green Belt setting, the Council owns a series of connected fields, with two public footpaths running through. Off Four Ems Road is a rough-surfaced car park, use of which is granted to Nomads Football Club. Within this site is an old agricultural concrete block barn, currently used for occasional storage.
Millennium Wood
The next field along from Mowshurst football pitches has become the Millennium Wood. There’s a pond and circular walks with picnic benches. In 2025 we completed a Nature Trail and Art Adventure for all to enjoy.
Marsh Green
A public open space, with a children’s playground and a village sign. This is a registered village green.
Forge Green
A small open space accessed via the track which leads from Forge Croft over the railway line to the allotment site.
Pound Green
A small triangular green between Crouch House Road and Lingfield Road. This is a registered village green.
The Cemetery
The Cemetery is divided into four. Cemetery 1, to the left of the driveway from Church Street, is the oldest and is closed. Within this section is one of the Council’s depots for the ground staff. To the right of the driveway is cemetery 2, and further along is cemetery 3&4, which still has space for normal interments. The Wall of Remembrance is located here. The Council also maintains the churchyard.
Allotments
The Council provides two allotment sites – one on Swan Lane and the other east of the railway, accessed via Forge Croft.
Market Yard Car Park and Toilets
When The Council acquired what is now the car park, it also gained the part of Croft Lane which runs south from the Primary School gate to Forge Croft. From here to the car park, a stretch of about 50 yards, is now a safe walking route. The car park has electric vehicle charging points and public toilets. It is home to Edenbridge’s weekly Thursday market (8am to 2.30pm).
Spitals Cross Playground
A playground inside the Spitals Cross Estate, off Farmstead Drive. The land is owned by Sevenoaks District Council but the playground equipment is owned by Edenbridge Town Council.
Town flagpole
A small but significant piece of land, located at the north end of the High Street, near the entrance to Edenbridge Primary School, was gifted to the Council in 2025 by the developers of the site as they had no use for it. The Council plans to create a modest feature garden on the site, including benches where residents can sit, relax, and connect. Importantly, the plot will continue to be the home of Edenbridge’s town flagpole, which is used to mark civic occasions, commemorations, and local celebrations throughout the year.
Peace Garden, Hever Road
The Council looks after this special space that has been gifted to the community by a local family.
