Update February 2023: The new 40 MPH speed limit is now in force.
Kent County Council is consulting on a proposed Order to introduce a new 40 MPH speed limit on a section of Main Road, as you enter Edenbridge from the north (Crockham Hill and Westerham end).
The speed limit on the section of Main Road concerned changes from the National Speed Limit right down to 30 MPH. By adding a 40 MPH limit in between, it is hoped that drivers will slow down sooner on entering the town, and the road will be safer for all users.

You can comment on the Order until 12 noon on Monday 1 August 2022. Please send your comments direct to Kent Highways on the above link.
Edenbridge Town Council is very supportive of any changes that will help make this stretch of road safer for everyone. The Order has been proposed following analysis of traffic data over several years, with various solutions considered. This scheme for safety measures will be funded by the Town Council through money received from developers via the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
