The town’s Community Warden plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the local environment and promoting community safety. This part-time position serves as a vital link between residents, local agencies, voluntary groups, and the Police. The Warden’s responsibilities include fostering community engagement, enhancing safety initiatives, and supporting local efforts like “Building Bridges for a Dementia Friendly Edenbridge.”
Key areas of focus for the Community Warden include organising community clean-up efforts, engaging with local youth groups and schools to raise environmental awareness, and attending community events and partnership meetings. The Warden also helps organise the weekly Games Club for over 55s, collects data from Speed Indicator Devices to promote safer driving within the town, and meets regularly with Edenbridge’s local policing team to share information and provide a presence in the town.
Additionally, the Warden is committed to recruiting more volunteers to participate in various town initiatives, such as litter picks, bulb planting, and Speedwatch. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch.
