Free Christmas tree collections
After this year’s festivities have ended, Sevenoaks District Council will collect and recycle your real Christmas tree for free.
From Wednesday 2 January until Friday 1 February, the Council will collect any tree with a trunk of up to 90mm (3.5 inches) in diameter.
Simply leave your tree at the boundary of your property, and visible from the road, by 7am on the day the Garden Waste Collection Service visits your road.
If you’re not sure when the service is scheduled for your area, visit www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/collectiondays and search for your road.
All the trees collected are turned into environmentally friendly compost and for this reason, the Council cannot take trees which are decorated or in pots or stands.
If your tree is too big for this service, you can take it to one of Kent County Council’s (KCC) Household Waste Recycling Centres. Visit www.kent.gov.uk or call KCC on 03000 417373 for locations and opening times.
