The District Council is seeking comments on the Draft Local Plan, it says what can be built and where up to 2035. It includes proposals for new housing and employment land and improvements to retail and infrastructure. Once finalised, the new Local Plan will be used to assess planning applications in Sevenoaks District. It contains proposals for new homes, community improvements and protection for the Green Belt.
It is an important document and contains a number of proposals specifically for Edenbridge. A copy of them can be found at http://www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/info/20069128/new_local_plan/389/draft_local_plan_consultation and hard copies are available to view at Doggetts Barn Mon – Fri 9am-5pm.
There are a number of drop in events taking place around the district, one in Edenbridge between 2-8pm on Tuesday 14 August at Waitrose.
Comments have to be submitted by 5pm on September 10th.
