Recent CIL Award – Hever School Shepherds Hut

The Town Council was delighted to be invited to Hever Primary School on Friday (15 July) for the opening of its Shepherds Hut ?Cllr Alan Layland said, “it was the nicest event I have attended. I was so impressed by the children’s singing, dancing around the Maypole, and the helpers and teachers were superb. The school environment is beautiful, and I am so pleased the Town Council’s CIL Board supported this project”.

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) earlier this year awarded a contribution towards the construction of a traditional, timber framed, Shepherd Hut to provide desperately needed space at the school. Separate from the main building, a beautiful, calm, quiet space. The Hut will be used for pastoral care, SEN support, music lessons, club meetings, school council space, rehearsals, arts, drama, breakout and more.

Also attending on behalf of the Town Council was Cllr Angela Baker, Vice-Chair.

Details of the CIL Board and application pro-forma can be found on the Council’s website here.

Invitation to bid will be published late August. Next CIL Board meeting is 21 November.
