The Town Council is delighted to announce that the multi-use games area featuring Street Snooker is now open. Today, as the final installation works were finished, the Chairman of the Town Council, Cllr Alan Layland with Cllrs Baker and Todd, visited the site to meet with Marco Boi, creator of Street Snooker and Playinnovation to officially open the area.
Street Snooker and Cross Bar King are great games for all ages. Young children can learn colours and numbers. Older children and teenagers may want to practice their football shooting skills using either Street Snooker or Cross Bar King whilst at the same time learn maths by adding up scores. The 60-second challenge is a great fitness activity for anyone of any age or physical ability. (Instructions are on the score boards, or use the QR code or visit https://www.playinnovation.co.uk)
The outdoor gym complements this facility for fitness. There is also a new hype basketball post which provides another facility for games and shooting practice. Best of all, it is free to use.
Cllr Layland said: ‘I am excited by this initiative for Edenbridge. It will encourage people of all ages to get out in to the fresh air. From a welfare point of view this can only be a plus. Street Snooker teaches people to count, interact with other children and adults, and improve fitness. It will help develop hand eye coordination, numeracy skills and football shooting. I regard it is really good investment for our children’.
