Following the suspension of the bulky waste collections towards the end of last year, Sevenoaks District Council has now confirmed it will no longer be able to continue operating this discretionary service due to ongoing resource constraints and the implementation of its new waste service model this year.
This is as disappointing to the Town Council as we’re sure it is to residents – we know how valued this service was and is why we carried on funding it each year.
We are currently looking to see if there are any feasible alternatives and will keep everyone informed.
Residents will continue to have access to alternative methods for the disposal of bulky household items, including:
- Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs)
- Bulky waste home collection services, which you can book directly with SDC
- Reuse and donation schemes provided by local charities
