The Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Board has approved funding for several local improvement projects that will benefit residents and community facilities across the town.
What is CIL funding?
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a charge that local planning authorities such as Sevenoaks District Council can apply to new developments. The money collected from developers is used to fund infrastructure and community improvements needed to support growth in the area. This can include projects such as community facilities, parks, roads, and other local infrastructure.
Town and parish councils may receive a share of CIL funding generated by development in their area and can allocate it to projects that meet the criteria, including the Council’s own projects.
Projects awarded CIL funding
Following the latest CIL Board meetings, several bids have been approved to support improvements to community facilities in Edenbridge.

- Eden Valley Museum – replacement covers for display cabinets – £1,950
- Edenbridge Allotment Gardens Association – replacement composting toilet – £5,867.99
- Edenbridge Cricket Club – irrigation system – £12,000
- WI Hall – refurbishment and electricals – £9,587
- Edenbridge Town Council – Stangrove Park bandstand – £22,570
- Edenbridge Town Council – disabled access ramps at the Pavilion – £2,800
- Edenbridge Town Council – mains water connection at the Pavilion – £50,000
- Edenbridge Town Council – new playground at Marsh Green – £70,000
- Edenbridge Town Council – replacement streetlights at Cedar Drive and Park Avenue – £40,000
- Edenbridge Town Council – new streetlight at Church Street £6,000
