In response to requests from residents By-Elections will take place in both wards on Thursday 5 April.
Formal notices announcing the election will be posted on Tuesday (27 Feb). If you are interested in standing Guidance Notes for candidates together with nomination papers will be available from Sevenoaks District Council. Nominations must be submitted to SDC by 4pm on Wednesday 7 March. It is best to call the Elections Office first to ensure that someone will be available to carry out informal checks on the paperwork – 01732 227429.
There is one vacancy to be filled in each ward. If the elections are contested, all registered voters will receive polling cards giving details of the opening times and location of the polling station.
The cost of holding the election will be charged to the Town Council and is expected to be in the region of £13,000.
