Please do not get complacent with Covid-19: Kent has been placed in the highest Tier of restrictions with the decision partly made because of the ability for Kent and Medway Hospitals to cope with rising demand set against the other challenges this virus brings to the running of a hospital.
Unfortunately the picture across Kent remains quite bleak, both Tonbridge and Malling and Tunbridge Wells had increased numbers by the end of last week, although both from a relatively low base, alongside Maidstone, Folkstone and Hythe, Dover, Canterbury and Ashford, Kent now has six out of the top ten areas for Covid cases in the country.
The Sevenoaks figures are falling but only very slightly, however with rising rates around us obviously it would be foolish to believe we are an island and immune to further rises here.
The updated figures show any recent reduction will be short-lived in the trusts in Kent and Medway, with cases expected to rise again in all acute hospitals over the weeks to the end of the year. Please stay safe and follow the Coronavirus guidelines.
