Dog poo bags and holders
Free dog poop bags and holders are available at the Town Council office.

We are fortunate to have lots of wonderful green spaces in Edenbridge and we are privileged as a Council to maintain them for the local community. The sites we look after include the Recreation Ground and playground at Lingfield Road, Stangrove Park and playground, Blossoms Park and skate park, Millennium Wood (next to Nomads Football Club), as well as Marsh Green and playground.

These open spaces are enjoyed by many, including families and young children, and it can be harmful and unsightly when dog waste isn’t disposed of responsibly. If you are a dog owner or you walk dogs, please help us to ensure these spaces can continue to be enjoyed by all.

ANY BIN WILL DO!
As well as dedicated dog-fouling bins, bagged dog poo can be put in all public bins. So there really is no excuse not to leave it.

Dog-fouling facts

  • Whilst rare, contact with dog excrement can cause toxocariasis – a nasty infection that can lead to dizziness, nausea, asthma and even blindness or seizures.
  • Anyone who fails to clear up after their dog can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of up to £100.
  • If the case goes to court this could cost the owner or person in charge of the animal up to £1,000.
  • The law states that being unaware a dog has fouled or not having a suitable bag is not a reasonable excuse.
