We know the War Memorial at the old hospital site is very important to our community, so we wanted to share an update.
The memorial is currently located on the former hospital site at Mill Hill, which is owned by NHS Trust Properties. Since the hospital closed, we have stayed in regular contact with the NHS Trust to understand their plans for the site and to ensure the memorial remains protected.
We’ve now been advised that the NHS is close to completing the sale of the site. Once this is confirmed, we will work with the future owners to understand their plans and to discuss the future of the War Memorial.
