We’ve completed work on our community garden – a small space, but hopefully one that makes a lovely difference to our High Street.
In 2025, we were kindly gifted the land where the old Police Station once stood, and we’ve been busy transforming it into a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.
We’ve levelled the ground to make the area more accessible, repointed the existing wall, laid fresh grass, installed extra seating and a new litter bin, and planted a selection of shrubs which will grow and establish over time.
Our hope is that this little corner of the High Street will become a pleasant spot for residents and visitors to take a moment, sit down, relax and enjoy their surroundings.
The space also remains home to our town’s flagpole, which will soon be used as we mark Remembrance Day on 11 November at 11am. Everyone is welcome to join. (The Remembrance Sunday parade to the War Memorial will take place on 8 November).
Thank you once again to our fabulous Grounds Team for their expertise and work on this project.
