Edenbridge Residents and Councillor Drop-ins

Join us for a local councillor surgery at The Bridges Centre on Thursday 27 February from 11 am to 12 midday.

This is a chance for residents to meet with local town councillors, ask questions, and receive guidance on local issues.

If this session is popular, we plan to hold these drop-ins regularly on the last Thursday of each month.

No booking required – just pop along!

Confirmed for February’s drop-in is Councillor Angela Baker (Edenbridge North & East Ward). As well as being your local town councillor, Cllr Baker is also a Sevenoaks District councillor.

Celebrating success at Slimming World

Councillor Carey Jacques recently attended the local Slimming World group to present the ‘Greatest Loser Awards’ to local residents Ben and Victoria, showing her support for the incredible dedication and achievements of the group’s members. As part of the council’s efforts to help promote health and wellbeing in the community, Carey was delighted to celebrate those making positive lifestyle changes.

Sarah, the Slimming World Consultant who leads the weekly group, shared her gratitude: “A huge thank you to Carey for joining us at our Greatest Loser Awards evening! Her heartfelt and supportive speech truly resonated with our members, and I know they will express just how much it meant to them in our next session.”

Well done to everyone on their journey – your hard work and determination are truly inspiring!

Councillors are here to support and represent residents, so if there’s something they can help you with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Could you be a local councillor? We have four vacancies

Council meetings are held at Rickards Hall

Edenbridge Town Council is looking to fill vacancies by co-opting four new members to the Council.

Councillors make a huge difference to the quality of life of local people and how local issues are dealt with. They work to improve the prosperity of residents by enhancing the town’s caring community spirit, protecting the environment, and retaining the town’s character.

As a local councillor you will get involved with many interesting projects and issues that affect Edenbridge and our community. The Town Council owns and maintains a number of parks, playgrounds and buildings in the town, and works with a wide range of partners to make Edenbridge a better place to live. This is a great opportunity to be involved at the beginning of the new Council term and help set its vision for the next four years.

If this sounds like something you would like to get involved with, please consider applying by submitting an expression of interest.

Candidates will be invited to attend a full Council meeting and to give a short presentation, up to three minutes, on why you would like to be a Town Councillor and what you feel you can offer the community. Of course, applicants do not have to attend the meeting to be considered. This statement should be submitted whether you are attending the meeting or not.

Deadlines:
Thursday 8 June 2023 – express interest and submit presentation statement to the Town Clerk, Caroline Leet, by email to townclerk@edenbridgetowncouncil.gov.uk

Monday 19 June, 7.30 pm – Council meeting to consider applications

For an informal discussion please contact the Town Clerk on 01732 865368
