What are you looking for?

A heartfelt thank you to everyone that joined us on Remembrance Sunday 2025 (9 November) to pay tribute to all those that have served – and continue to serve – our country.

As always, it was a truly moving occasion as the parade, led by 1st Edenbridge Scout Group, marched from the town centre to the War Memorial at the old hospital site. There, we paused for prayers, The Last Post, a two-minute silence, wreath-laying, and the National Anthem.

The morning was a true reflection of the Edenbridge community spirit, and we’re so proud and grateful to everyone who played a part:

  • Our Armed Forces, Emergency Service and NHS Trust
  • Volunteers – from Edenbridge Community Christmas Association and NEDRA, for assisting Town Council staff with road closures
  • 1st Edenbridge Scouts – for leading the parade and helping with road closures and planning
  • Royal British Legion – for organising the wreaths, liaising with community groups and compering the ceremony
  • Local schools and groups – including Edenbridge and Hever Primary, with Guides, Brownies, and Scouts also in attendance
  • NEDRA – for helping to keep the memorial site looking its best
  • St Peter & St Paul’s Church, and Edenbridge Town Band – for the afternoon service of remembrance
  • Edenbridge Yarn Bombers – for the beautifully knitted poppies that adorn the railings at Stangrove Park

We were especially honoured to meet local resident Eric Bateman, who served during the D-Day landings and was invited to meet King Charles at the 80th anniversary event in Portsmouth last year. He will soon be celebrating his 100th birthday! We’ll be sharing more about Eric’s story very soon – so stay tuned.

To every individual, group, and family who stood with us – thank you. Your presence made this a day of true remembrance and pride for Edenbridge.
