Work begins on Tuesday 9 May to carry out maintenance at the wooden bridge above the Retention Dam on the River Eden, to the rear of Church Street. The old bridge will no longer be available, and work is expected to take up to four days. There is an alternative bridge approximately 100m along the river closer to the High Street, which carries the Public Right of Way footpath SR612 across the River Eden to and from Church Street, and remains available.
