Residents are invited to join in and carry out a Great British Spring Clean in their own street during March, including a Litter Pick on Friday 3rd March, organized by the Community Warden.
To fully support Keep Britain Tidy campaign, The Great British Spring Clean is working with partners to put together a package of activities for the town. The Chamber of Commerce has been encouraging the High Street Shops to make a special effort to ‘sparkle up their shop fronts’. Council staff and members are going to clean the street furniture in the High Street and Kent Highways have been successful in obtaining funds to repaint the white lines in the High Street. This is programmed for the end of March but will be moved to April if the road conditions look unfavourable, to ensure that the results are long lasting.
