The draft budget for 2025–26 was reviewed by the Council during its December meeting. Prior to this, the Finance Committee carefully examined the budgets, expenditures, and income, identifying potential savings while considering rising costs for utilities, services, and the ongoing maintenance of numerous open spaces and council-owned buildings.
The Council is committed to maintaining and protecting the high standards of facilities for residents to enjoy, while also ensuring the stability of its finances. Budgeting often involves making difficult decisions, and councillors remain mindful of the cost-of-living pressures affecting everyone.
The draft budget and precept will be presented to Full Council for approval on 20 January 2025.
