Thank you to everyone who commented on Sevenoaks District Council’s new Local Plan during the Regulation 18 consultation at the end of last year. Your input helped ensure Edenbridge’s voice was heard.
SDC officers are presenting an update to the Development and Infrastructure Advisory Committee (5 March), summarising the consultation. We’re very pleased to see in the report that the highest number of responses from anywhere in the district came from Edenbridge. This shows how engaged our community is with local issues.

Agenda for the Development and Infrastructure Advisory Committee – 5 March
Thank you to the local groups and individuals who helped raise awareness of the Local Plan, and to town councillors who hosted drop-in sessions so residents could find out more and share their views.
We would also like to thank the district council for giving us opportunities to share our views throughout the process and keeping communications ongoing with our councillors and officers. We recognise that balancing the priorities of local communities with the government’s required housing numbers and other targets is a challenging task.
Next steps
We are currently reviewing the report and continuing to work with our planning consultant to ensure Edenbridge is well represented in future consultations.
Sevenoaks District Council plans to publish the Regulation 19 consultation draft in the summer. The Local Plan will then be submitted by the end of the year for public examination by a government-appointed Planning Inspector.
