On Wednesday 16 July, we hosted our annual Chairman’s Summer Reception, bringing together community champions, volunteers, and local partners for an evening of appreciation and connection.
The event, held at Rickards Hall, is a long-standing tradition that recognises the many individuals and organisations who go above and beyond for the town.
Town Council Chairwoman, Cllr Angela Baker, welcomed guests and expressed her thanks:
“This is not only a celebration, but also a heartfelt thank you to all the local organisations, community groups, and volunteers we’ve had the privilege of working with over the past year.
“Edenbridge is fortunate to have so many wonderful organisations, many of which have partnerships with the Town Council, and are represented here tonight. Whether you’re supporting young people, caring for our environment, helping our older residents, running clubs and events, or simply keeping the spirit of Edenbridge alive. You each play a vital role in making Edenbridge a welcoming and thriving place to live, work, and visit.
“The time, energy, and dedication you give do not go unnoticed. This evening is just one small way of showing our deep appreciation.
“I’d also like to thank my fellow Town Councillors. They are all volunteers too, and give their time because they care deeply about Edenbridge and its future.
“Looking towards the future, as Edenbridge enters a new era of local government reorganisation, the Town Council remains committed to being a proactive and resilient voice for our community. We recognise how important it is to protect and champion the services that matter most to our residents.
“By working together with our partners, community stakeholders, including the groups and communities you represent, we hope we will place Edenbridge at the heart of local decision-making. We strive to preserve the unique character and spirit of our town while delivering practical, people-focused outcomes and ensuring our town remains a place we’re all proud to call home.
“So, Let’s keep working together, supporting each other, and building on everything we’ve achieved so far.”
Thank you to everyone who attended – and to those who continue to give back to Edenbridge throughout the year.
