We have an exciting opportunity for an Open Spaces and Administration Officer to join our dedicated team.
Position: Full-time (37 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
Do you want to be part of a team that serves the community by maintaining our beautiful open spaces and providing essential services? We are looking for an organised, switched-on, and enthusiastic individual with great attention to detail to join our small, friendly team!
This is a varied role, responsible for:
- Managing the bookings of various Council sites including cemeteries and allotments
- Working closing with the grounds teams
- Ensuring delivery of small projects for the Council’s open spaces and parks, playgrounds, cemeteries, and allotments
- Overseeing any maintenance works, sourcing quotes and working with contractors
- Ensuring all sites are compliant with government regulations
- Providing administrative support and front of house support to visitors
- Organising and attending regular meetings
Good organisational, administrative and IT/Microsoft skills required, and previous experience in a customer focused role is desirable but not essential as full training is provided. Education to at least A-level or equivalent.

Starting salary in the region of £29,000 (including outer London fringe allowance); NJC pay scales applied, with annual performance increments, Local Government sector qualification and experience will be recognised in the pay scales. We also offer the Local Government Pension Scheme; and private medical insurance after 1 April two-years’ continuous service.
